# Modern Stamina Quiz Methodology

Last reviewed: August 2026

Our lifestyle quiz is designed to provide you with a snapshot of your daily habits and offer practical, rule-based recommendations. To ensure transparency, this page explains exactly what information we collect, how our scoring system works, and how we generate your results.

## What is Measured

The quiz evaluates your lifestyle across 12 specific inputs:

  1. **Age range**
  2. **Height and weight** \(optional metric or imperial\)
  3. **General activity level**
  4. **Primary goal**
  5. **Average sleep per night**
  6. **Daily energy level**
  7. **Stress level**
  8. **Food habits**
  9. **Hydration** \(glasses of water per day\)
  10. **Current exercise routine**
  11. **Time available for activity per day**
  12. **Dietary preference** \(optional\)

\(Note: Gender is an optional field that may be used to adjust baseline calculations, but is not one of the primary scoring inputs\).

## How Categories are Scored

Your answers are evaluated using a simple rule-based logic system. We calculate four category scores, each ranging from 0 to 100:

  * **Movement Score:** Based on your general activity level, current exercise routine, and time available for activity. Higher consistency and frequency yield a higher score.
  * **Nutrition Score:** Calculated from your food habits, dietary preference, and hydration levels. Eating balanced meals and staying adequately hydrated improves this score.
  * **Recovery Score:** Determined by your average sleep per night and reported stress levels. More sleep and lower stress result in a higher recovery score.
  * **Daily Energy Score:** Derived from your self-reported daily energy levels \(e.g., consistently high vs. often low\) and factors like hydration and sleep.

## What the Tier Labels Mean

Your four category scores are averaged to calculate an overall score \(0–100\), which corresponds to one of three tier labels:

  * **0–40: "Building your foundation"** — You are at the beginning of your journey. Small, consistent changes in movement, sleep, or nutrition will have a major impact.
  * **41–70: "Developing consistency"** — You have some solid habits in place but may experience fluctuations. The focus here is on creating a balanced routine you can stick to.
  * **71–100: "Maintaining momentum"** — You have strong, consistent habits. Your goal is optimizing and maintaining your current lifestyle while managing stress and recovery.

## How Recommendations are Selected

The focus areas and suggested guides provided at the end of the quiz are selected purely through **rule-based combinations** of your lowest category scores. For example, if your Recovery Score is your lowest metric, the system automatically surfaces sleep and stress-management guides. These recommendations are generalized educational resources, **not personalized medical advice**.

## What is NOT Measured

It is important to understand the limits of this quiz. We do **not** measure or diagnose:

  * Clinical fitness or VO2 max
  * Medical conditions or diseases
  * Body composition \(body fat percentage, muscle mass\)
  * Lab values \(blood pressure, cholesterol, hormone levels\)

## A Lifestyle Snapshot, Not an Assessment

This tool is designed to give you a **lifestyle snapshot** —a helpful starting point for self-reflection and goal-setting based on your self-reported habits. It is **not** a clinical, medical, or formal fitness assessment. The results should be used for educational purposes and to help direct you to relevant articles on our site.
